This Friendship was delivered to Air New Zealand in 1961 and wfu in 1992. It is now preserved in one of the halls of the Transport and Toy museum, cramped with cars and aircraft. Unfortunately, this makes it impossible to take a decent picture of the aircraft.

Another aircraft cramped in one of the halls of this museum among dozens of old cars. This An-2 was delivered in 1975 to the DOSAAF which became ROSTO Russia in 1991. Two years later it was sold to Sporting Aviacijaa and became LY-AKH. Only three years later, in 1996, the aircraft was shipped to the Transport and Toy Museum in New Zealand.

25 years earlier, in 1991, I had seen this aircraft after it had just arrived for long-term storage at Polish AF base Mierzecice (see https://www.airhistory.net/photo/224316/5141). From there, it was shipped to Australia in 1992. It remained in storage in crates at Bankstown, NSW and was later shipped to New Zealand for display at the Transport and Toy museum. It still carries its former 62 PLM badge, but now has a strange tiger c/s which it never wore while active.
