One of the daily flights between Johannesburg and Kruger, feeding tourists into the Lowveld specially for the Kruger national park. Noticeable is the height of the tail, which is quite massive in comparison to the rest of this aircraft

Ex ZS-NYK, registered 22nd Feb 2013 and withdrawn from use FAKN some time in 2017

Ex ZS-AAG, registered 5th June 2014 and withdrawn from use FAKN (Nelspruit) early 2017 and slowly broken up for spares.

Ex Flight West VH-FNQ, registered to Network Aviation as VH-NIF 10th Feb 2000 and re-registered VH-NHY 19th Aug 2011. Withdrawn from use 31st July 2014 and flown to FAKN (Nelspruit) Apr 2015 and registration cancelled 2nd Apr 2015. Cannibalized for spares and when this picture was taken "NHY" was still slightly visible on the nosewheel and aft fuselage. Contrary to some websites reports it was never registered ZS-KLM as this was a different aircraft.

Delivered to Westair Commuter Airlines in June 1990 as N288UE. To Atlantic Coast Airlines (October 1991) and Mesa Airlines (February 1996). Became LX-EAC with EAC-Regional Airlines in July 1999. Back to N288UE with a leasing company in September 2001 before going to Luxaviation as LX-GDE in MAy 2002. To Hellas Wings in July 2005 as SX-BHW. Finally to a private owner in February 2008 as TR-NRT. The aircraft has since been scrapped at Nelspruit. Unfortunately the aircraft was too close to the fence and I couldn't avoid the wires.

Not taken up by Presidential Airways as N409XV, but to Air BC in June 1988 as C-FBAE. To Air Canada Jazz in March 2002. Withdrawn from use and stored at Summerside in February 2005. To Air Congo in October 2008 as TN-AIF. To Allegiance Air in May 2009 as ZS-AAX.

We had just exited the Kruger park and were on our way to Sabie to spend the night there. Our route would take us past Nelspruit and I couldn't resist to visit the airport. It's a very nice terminal and there were a few Cessna's present on the main apron, but the maintenance/graveyard area in a remote corner of the airport looked more interesting. We found a road that led to that place and the first thing we discovered was this ex Safair Boeing 737-200, which was parked outside of the fence. Ex. G-BGDN, CC-CHS.

Stored at minus props at Kruger Mpumalanga airport, after this Angolan airline ceased operations in 2011. Note the additional "Uma Empresa do Grupo Ducard" titles on the rear fuselage, carried by every Air26 aircraft.

How things can turn out. Flying for Air France Cityjet some years ago and now sitting in a remote corner of an airport in South Africa. Whether this aircraft caught fire or if it is used as a fire trainer, I don't know. What I do know though is that this is definitely the end of the line for this bird. Ex. N141AC, N694AA, SE-DRE, EI-CWB and ZS-PZY.
