In the photo it is landing on the grass airstrip set up for the activity. Note the extended spoilers on the wing upper surfaces.

This glider was owned by the Civil Air Patrol until 2012, when it was deregistered. An annual National Cadet Glider Academy is a regular event at the airport in Mattoon, IL.
