After being retired from service in Petroecuador, it was taken to the ETFA in Latacunga where it shared campus withe the ESPE (the armed forces university). Not long ago, ESPE opened a new campus in the Belisario Quevedo district of Latacunga and there it houses a few planes which are used for training mechanics.

In 2004, this plane was seized by the government in Portoviejo as it was said to belong to a person involved in drug trafficking. Its registration was XB-ILD. It was later stored in Latacunga for some time, then it was going to be used as a presidential plane and registered as FAE-050, but it never flew for the air force. After being dumped in Latacunga, it was moved to the ETFA in Latacunga to be used for training for mechanics. It has now been moved to the ESPE Belisario Quevedo campus where has been repainted and conserves its Mexican registration.

Tame's HC-BSC / FAE-788 was retired from service in 2005 and was chopped up in 2013 when Quito's old airport shut down. Only the nose section / cockpit was preserved and sent to ESPE (The armed forces' university) for it to be converted into a Boeing 737-500 flight training device / flight simulator.
