There is only one aeroplane here in the Alfa Romeo museum, but what a stunner. It is painted as I-ASSI (c/n 04) which made a South American tour for the benefit of handicapped Italian kids in 1949, named Angel of the Children in Spanish and Italian. On the tailfin is a quote from Saint Francis of Assisi.

The Ambrosini S.1001 Grifo ("Griffin") was an Italian light airplane that was produced shortly after the end of WWII. A small series was produced for the Italian aeroclubs with an Alfa Romeo 110-ter engine of 97 kW (130 hp), hence the reason for the display of this example at the Alfa Romeo museum with a false registration. The true identity of the plane was I-RANN.
