Photographed in the workshop of Charles Church (Spitfires) Ltd, Roundwood Farm, near Micheldever, Hampshire. It had arrived on 13 January 1987 and, although superficially complete, the airframe was a mixture of parts from Mks IX, VIII & XIV and Chief Engineer Dick Melton decided that it could not be restored as a whole. The Mk XIV wings were transferred to MV262 and remanufactured by Ron Clarke of RGC Aviation whilst the fuselage was stored until sold to Sussex Spraying Services Ltd in November 1989. The project was registered as G-BRSF on 22 November 1989.
