Roll out ceremony of the complex composite Spitfire, based on the fuselage of RR232, and owned by Peter Sledge. The original RR232 was built at Castle Bromwich as an H.F.IX (Merlin 70) and had been taken on charge by No 45 MU, Kinloss, exactly 40 years earlier. After a period on display in Australia it was sold to Charles Church during 1985 and arrived in the UK in January 1987. Due to having been restored as a static exhibit many parts were removed and used in other projects before the hulk was bought by Martin Phillips for restoration to fly. (Photo by Peter Anderson).
