Delivered to the Soviet Air Force in Aeroflot colours as CCCP-85587 in 1983. To the Russian Air Force in 1992. Reregistered as RA-85587 by 1993. Damaged beyond repair by a fire while on overhaul at the Aviakor plant at Samara-Bezymyanka Airport in 2015.

Built for the Soviet Air Force in 1970. To the Russian Air Force as 27 red in 1992. Overhauled and marked as RA-12137 in 2005.

The last Tupolev 154 ever built, delivered in Feb 2013, coming in to land on rwy 27. On board were witnesses from Douma in Syria, who were on their way to an international press conference for the OPCW (Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons) in The Hague, about an alleged chemical attack on their city. The conference was organised by Russia, hence this Russian Air Force aircraft, with the 223 LO badge clearly visible. A very unusual aircraft type for Schiphol these days!
