Rare early pic of Phantom carrying the individual tailcode of CO. The 480th parent wing, the 366th TFW, used a system of individual tailcodes for its squadrons in the late 1960s. Although based at Da Nang, this picture was taken at Ubon in Thailand. This Phantom was shot down over Laos on 23 April 1970.

This F-4D operated by 480 TFS from Da Nang AB, South Vietnam, is being refuelled during a combat mission over Vietnam. This unit, at that time, had individual aircraft tailcodes starting with Cx. This particular F-4D was later transferred to the 48 TFW at RAF Lakenheath where it was written off on 16 January 1975.
