This former Portuguese Sabre, serial 5307, is preserved in the Netherlands to represent an American Sabre that flew out of Soesterberg during the late fifties.

This is a former Portuguese Air Force F-86F 5307, painted to represent an aircraft of 32 Fighter Day Squadron. 512 FDS was based at Soesterberg from November 1954. The unit was re-designated 32nd FDS in May 1955 with its Sabres replaced by the F-100C in August 1956.

Soesterberg based F-100C of the 32nd FDS, with Wolfhounds badge and red tail with a small Dutch flag. The 32nd, which received the F-100C in 1956, was redesignated 32nd TFS in 1958, and then 32nd FIS in 1959. The unit was officially assigned to the 36th FDW in 1957. This aircraft went back to the US after the 32nd received F-102s in 1960. There it crashed on 30 January 1967. This pic is from the files of Gilze-Rijen Air Base.

Painted to represent 52-5385, but its actual serial in USAF service was 52-5180.

This is actually 52-5180, a Sabre that went to Portugal as 5307, but it is painted as an USAFE F-86F based at Soesterberg in the mid-1950s
