Eight Pillans were delivered to the Dominican Republic in 1999-2000, and this was the highest serial. Seen in good condition with the Escuela de Aviacion in June 2004. The construction number plate had been removed by that time. Unfortunately it crashed on 07 April 2013.

The Eagle EA-100 is an American light-sport aircraft that was designed in the mid-zero's and produced by Eagle Aviation LLC of Oshkosh (WI) Wisconsin. First aircraft were delivered in 2008, but the aircraft never became a success. The Dominican government impounded two of these unique aircraft in 2010 and added them to their Fuerza Aerea Dominicana as a basic training aircraft.

The rare Chilean built T-35B Pilan, a propeller-driven trainer aircraft, is used by the FAD for basic flight training. Eight aircraft were delivered to the FAD of which 50% have been written off and two are more or less permanently stored... not a good score! During my visit in 2011, the fleet was in better shape with five operational aircraft.
