Photographer not known. Originally XL640 with the RAF, this Britannia was acquired by Monarch in January 1976, provisionally for Aer Turas. However the aircraft was instead painted up for Eurafric, a putative Portuguese operator which planned to operate services to Africa, but I don't think this ever got going. The aircraft was instead leased to Aer Turas on an ad hoc basis in 1978 and later leased to Redcoat Air Cargo as G-BHAU, with a livery based on the Eurafric scheme. It was sold to Katale in Zaire in 1982 and flew as 9Q-CHU for a few years before being retired a few years later.

Delivered to the RAF as XL640 in 1959. To Eurafric as EI-BCI in 1977, Redcoat Air Cargo as G-BHAU in 1979 and Katale Air Transport as 9Q-CHU in 1982. Scrapped at Kinshasa in 1986.

After her RAF career as XL640, this Britannia was acquired by Monarch in 1.76 with the intention of onward sale to Aer Turas. However in 3.77 she was prepared instead for this new Portuguese operator for services to Angola, but was not taken up
