Delivered new to Ansett 6th June 1983 and operated with Cook Islands International titles from Aug 1986-Dec1989, operating services for both Cook Islands and Ansett

VH-RMD appears to be about to collide with a bird. It is all telephoto distortion and the bird was unharmed. Sydney's location by Botany Bay means gulls and pelicans do at times come into conflict with aircraft.

Cook Islands International was painted on the starboard side and Polynesian Airlines on the other.

This Boeing 767 First flew as N8278V and entered the Australian Register on 6th of June 1983 as VH-RMD. It was cancelled from the Australian register on 2nd of December 2004 It was registered to Aeroturbine Inc. as N861AT on 2nd December 2004. It was broken up for parts in 2005 at Opa-locka.

VH-RMN was operated by Ansett Airlines from May 1979 to February 1987. It was leased to Polynesian from March 1987 to April 1992. Until May 1990 it carried Cook Islands International markings on the starboard side. Soon after its return to Ansett it was repainted in East-West Airlines livery but less than a year later it was back with Ansett. Withdrawn from use in 1996 and sold in 1997, -RMN was flown to the US where it was converted to a freighter. It returned to Australia as VH-AUP.
