Under a sky coloured by sunset and city glow, floodlights highlight the right-hand tail fin with both serials and the camel badge of the 10th Flying Brigade. Its 103rd Troop Carrier Squadron was the last ROCAF unit to operate the C-119.

On top of a wooden deck in a quiet part of Sihu (nowadays Xihu) town, in the company of three jets and some missiles. Operational with the 439th Troop Carrier and ASW Combined Wing at Pingtung-South, also known as the 6th TC&ASCW, until being present at the type's withdrawal ceremony on 19 December 1997. The badge on the nose depicts the angry bird of the 103rd Troop Carrier Sqn, part of the 10th Flying Brigade that represented the airlift part of the wing.

When on this trip, I had only vague indications of an F-100 being part of the collection here, and it wasn't visibile on satellite imagery at the time (it still isn't very conspicuous). I was thrilled to actually find it, in the dark (this is a long exposure) behind a shubbery. Its real serial was 0009, with true alternate 86980 from MDAP serial 58-6980.

Hiding in the bushes in the dark, but not doing any harm. It is even disguised though, having been serial 0009 with alternate 86980 during its operational ROCAF life. Preserved at Hsinchu initially with marks as shown, moved here at some point between Summer 2002 and Summer 2007.

Preserved outside with an open canopy, between the C-119 and F-5 also present here. Originally a Fokker-built Luftwaffe machine, operating from Luke AFB (AZ) in USAF livery. Transferred to Taiwan in 1983 with a number of others. After the type's withdrawal from use in May 1998, preserved at CCK initially and then here since 2001.

Ex FMS 74-0997, somewhat faded unit badge on the tail. Sitting under the park floodlights in the company of several more aircraft and a few missiles.
