Delivered to the USAAF as 43-22210. Sold and registered as NL67921 in 1946 then N67921 in 1949. Converted to an agricultural sprayer. Stored at Boise, ID in 1959. To the Confederate Air Force in 1966, flown to Harlingen and restored. Destroyed in a crash near Harlingen in 1988 when the pilot died of a heart attack at the controls.

Delivered to the USAAF as 3-38. Sold and registered as NC56249 in 1946, N56249 in 1949 and N62G in 1963. To the Confederate Air Force in 1973. Damaged when it hit a bridge while being transported by road from Brownsville, TX to Midland, TX in 1993 and stored at Midland. Moved to the National Warplane Museum, Genesco, NY for restoration in 2010.

Delivered to the USAAF as 41-35071. Sold as NL5546N in 1946. Reregistered as N5546N in 1949, XB-LOX in 1961 then N5546N in 1965. To the Confederate Air Force in 1967. Nose gear had collapsed on landing five days before this photo was taken. It was repaired but was destroyed in a fatal crash near Odessa, TX in 1995.

Scrapped when the collection moved to Midland, TX in 1991.

Delivered to the USAAF in 1945. To the Confederate Air Force for preservation at Harlingen in 1972. Registered as N4470M in 1983. Probably never applied. Broken up in 1991. Fuselage moved to Midland, TX by 1998.

Ex Spanish Air Force C4K-169, sold to Spitfire Productions Ltd as G-AWHT. Subsequently registered as N109W and D-FMVS, now registered D-FMGZ and flown as a two-seater with interchangeable Merlin and Daimler-Benz engines.

Delivered to USAAF as 45-49385. To Fuerza Aerea del Peru, 1953, with s/n 549 later 127 FAPe. Imported from Peru by Ed Jurist/Vintage Aircraft International Ltd, Nyack, NY. Arrived Brownsville, TX, 5 Sept 1969 on board SS Rosaldina. Sold to Tom Friedkin, Palomar, CA keeping c/r N47DF. To Military Aircraft Restoration Corp, Chino, CA. Crashed and rebuilt several times! Now painted as 549385/WZ-A on port side and B-WZ on starboard.

Genuine serial is 45-49181. Constructed as a P-47D-40-RA by Republic at Evansville, Indiana, USA. Sold March 1953 to Fuerza Aerea del Peru with s/n 539, later 115 FAPe. Imported from Peru by Ed Jurist/Vintage Aircraft International Ltd, Nyack, NY. Arrived Brownsville, TX, 5 Sept 1969 on board SS Rosaldina. F/F Harlingen 28 August 1972 as N47DC. Sold 1975 to David C. Tallichet/Yesterdays Air Force/MARC, Chino, CA. Re-registered 1978 as N159LF then N444SU. Currently static at Air Zoo Aerospace and Science Experience, Kalamazoo/Battle Creek International Airport, Kalamazoo, MI.

This aircraft is now exhibited at the Minnesota Air National Guard Museum at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport.

At the time the aircraft had only recently been acquired by the CAF and the titles of a former operator, Ortner Air Service, can still just be discerned under the paint on the upper fuselage. Subsequently restored in USAAF markings and named "China Doll", it was for many years a common sight at US airshows, but in recent times it has been stored outside the premises of the CAF Southern California Wing at Camarillo Airport, CA. However, according to the Wing's Facebook page, it has now been moved inside and will be restored to static display condition.

The aircraft, which originally served with the Republic of China Air Force/RoCAF, was on loan from the USAF Museum. When the CAF moved to Midland, TX., in 1991 it was relocated to Warfield Air National Guard Base, Martin State Airport, Middle River, MD., where it was refurbished, and is now displayed painted in Maryland ANG markings with the false serial "10004" and can be seen there on Google Maps street view.

Seen here before her first flight after restoration. I don't believe that she had a very long flying career.
