Picture taken during a ceremony to conclude the last repetition course of Fliegerstaffel 2 & Fliegerkompanie 15 operating Hunters out of Ulrichen, after which the airfield was closed to jet traffic. J-4119 was built in 1955 and served with the RAF until 1970 (serialled WV380). After refurbishment by Hawker Siddeley, it was part of an 1971 order of 30 second hand Hunter Mk58As for the Swiss AF, to supplement the 100 new aircraft bought back in 1958. Two more orders for 2nd hand a/c followed: one in 1973 for 22 single and finally one in 1974 for eight dual seat Hunters (TMk68).

During the WK of 1994 Ulrichen was active with a great number of helicopters.

When we came at Ulrichen the base proved to be active for a change. There were about five Super Pumas and five Alouettes flying in and out. As it was early in the year the montain slopes were still covered with snow.
