VH-AJO was assembled at Rose Bay flying boat base by Qantas. This photo looks like it has made the short hop to the Qantas base at Sydney airport. It and sister ship VH-AJN were used in Papua New Guinea to support oil exploration. VH-AJO sank at its mooring at Port Moresby on January 21, 1952.

VH-BQI was one of three Sea Otters to serve with the Australian navy from 1948 to 1953. A few months after being civil registered in December 1954 it struck a submerged tree stump at RAAF Rathmines. Despite being holed, it reached the flying boat ramp safely. There it sat for many years until relocated to a rural property at nearby Awaba where it slowly fell apart. The weathering exposed its former military marks. The cockpit and nose now preserved at the Fleet Arm Museum, Nowra.
