This was the prototype DH.89, first flying from Hatfield on 17 April 1934 with DH's E.4 test markings. Sold to Switzerland as CH-287 and HB-ARA from November 1934. Bought by Swissair in March 1937 and re-registered HB-APA on 19 April 1948. Sold in 1954. Last flew in 1960 and sadly burnt in 1965. From Swissair 60 years ago. This photo was added on 7 January 2019, and has since been viewed 765 times. |
