WD828 taxies out for what had been expected to be its last flight, from storage at Bankstown airport to the Moorabbin airport aviation museum. But six years later the museum sold it to Mike Wansey, a warbird enthusiast who undertook an 11-year restoration back to airworthy as VH-HMW. Built as an AS6, WD828 had been converted to a TT6.
