WD828 taxies out for what had been expected to be its last flight, from storage at Bankstown airport to the Moorabbin airport aviation museum. But six years later the museum sold it to Mike Wansey, a warbird enthusiast who undertook an 11-year restoration back to airworthy as VH-HMW. Built as an AS6, WD828 had been converted to a TT6. When it returned to the air in 1984 it was again an AS6.

Built in 1950 to Fleet Air Arm order but delivered direct to Australia serving several squadrons until retired and sold to the Moorabbin Air Museum in 1966. Restored to fly as VH-HMW in 1984 but badly damaged in force landing at Camden NSW 5.12.87.
