Northwest Airlines was a major operator of the 727 having flown over 110 of the aircraft. This one was delivered October 5, 1977, retired in 2007 and sold to Charlotte Aircraft Corporation to be parted out. Though still officially Northwest Airlines, Northwest Orient titles began in the late 40s after establishing their trans - Pacific routes. The Orient part was gradually dropped after the merger with Republic Airlines in 1986. This photo is copyright © Gary Vincent, and may not be used or published in any way without permission.
