An extraordinary feature of the expanded Flygvapenmuseum, opened on 12.6.10, are these Dakota remains. On 13.6.52, exactly 48 years before this photo, it was shot down over the Baltic by Soviet fighters while on a secret ELINT mission, checking installations in what are now Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. Two Catalinas deployed on SAR after the incident were also attacked by Mig-15s.
