Just a month after delivery on March 17, 1981, ship 716 starts the taxi out. The next to last 727 for Republic, it would fly on after the merger with Northwest until the end of 1999. Sold to CHampion Air in December of that year, the airliner was finally stored at Roswell, MN in 2004 and later broken up.
