A D-Day veteran having dropped paratroops near Picauville, Normandy. Here on VIP duties and based at RAF Mildenhall (EGUN) from 1959. It was frequently heard/seen on UK airways in the early 1960s. Later converted to EC-47Q and Bitburg (EDRB) based in 1967. Retired to MASDC in 1969 and believed scrapped by 1972. This photo was added on 28 March 2021, and has since been viewed 646 times. |
