Starting out as a 1953 440 for United Airlines, this Convair was with Lake Central Airlines when it was converted to a 580 in December 1966. Merged with Allegheny Airlines in 1968, it was withdrawn and stored at Marana, AZ in the mid 70s until sold to Great Lakes in August 1976. Renamed Air Ontario in 1981, the Convair left Canada in 1988. Written off during a maintenance ground run when the main undercarriage collapsed and the propeller damaged the fuselage at Brownsville-South Padre Island International Airport, Tx January 18, 2018.
