In 1981 to early 1983, US Air took delivery of several new 727-264s from Boeing. Later in 1983, the airline bought several 1980 built 727s from the remains of Braniff Airways that ceased operations in July 1982. This aircraft, formerly N476BN, entered service with US Air in July 1983. Sold to American Transair in the 90s, it went to Bata Leasing in 2002 and was converted to a freighter. To Astar Air Cargo in 2003 flying for DHL, the freighter was stored at Kingman, AZ in July 2009.
