In the mid 80s, Piedmont Airlines bought twenty former Garuda Indonesia F-28s from Fokker. Time Air / Canadian Regional acquired these same aircraft in the 90s after Piedmont merged with US Air. Former PK- GVE, N297B and N470US arrived at Time air in January 1991 registered C-FTAS. Canadian Regional merged with Air Canada Regional in November 2011 and the F-28 was retired in April 2002 .
