The first VC10 ever built and first flew 29 June 1962 from Weybridge. Used for development for the first six years then converted from Series 1100 to 1109 and operated by Middle East Airlines and British United, Caledonian/BUA, and British Caledonian. She was damaged beyond repair in a hard landing at London Gatwick 28 January 1972 and broken up after a period of storage.
