This aircraft was originally part of the aborted Capital Airlines order. It was leased to the U.S. Navy for six months, Jul 1960 to Jan 1961, and converted for use as a range instrumentation aircraft over the Pacific Missile Range (PMR), operating from NAS Point Mugu, California.
