14 Sep 1984: TOS USMC and assigned to Naval Air Depot, MCAS Cherry Point, NC. Ca.10/84: Marine Attack Training Squadron 203 (VMAT-203), MCAS Cherry Point. By 1990: Marine Attack Squadron 231 (VMA-231), MCAS Cherry Point. 6/90 to 3/91: Deployed to Japan, Philippines, Korea for training and then extended to continue to the Mediterranean for combat in Operation Desert Storm beginning in January 1991. 1999: Remanufactured as AV-8B (+), BuNo.165397 for a whole new career.
