14 Jul 1988: First flight. 4 Aug 1988: TOS USMC and assigned to Marine Attack Squadron 223 (VMA-223), MCAS Cherry Point, NC. Ca.10/90: VMA-542, MCAS Cherry Point.While with this unit, it deployed to Al Jubail AB, Saudi Arabia and flew combat in Desert Storm. By 7/95: VMA-223, MCAS Cherry Point. By 1999: Marine Attack Training Squadron 203 (VMAT-203), MCAS Cherry Point. 9/04: SOC. The airframe was still being used for parts and/or training when observed in the AV-8 maintenance hangar at Cherry Point in 2012.
