This is actually RB-25D USAAF s/n 43-3374 marked as B-25B 40-2344, the B-25 flown by Jimmy Doolittle during the April 1942 raid over Japan. 43-3374 was TOC 31 October 1943 and was retired in December 1957. It was then transferred to the North American Aviation plant in Inglewood, CA. There it was reconfigured to resemble Doolittle's B-25B. That was finished in April 1958 and the a/c flown to the USAF Museum. This slide was taken in the outdoor display area at the old museum.
