Taken on strength January 14, 1969, this CF-5A was assigned to the Aerospace Engineering Test Establishment, CFB Uplands at Ottawa airport. Around 1989 the aircraft was painted in this striking 419 Squadron color scheme for air show appearances (as was CF-5A 116740). It was stored 1991 before the type was retired from service in 1995. Acquired by the Canadian Air Land Sea Museum in November, the fuselage is stored outdoors at Markham, Ont.
