Turning in to the gate, summer 1974 - a view from the Queen's Building viewing balcony. While a TWA 707 starts its takeoff roll on runway 28R, next in line are a British Airways 707, a Northeast Trident 1E and Air Jamaica DC-8-62 6Y-JII. EI-ASH had been leased to Transair Canada from 16 November 1973 to 15 May 1974 as CF-TAR. It was leased to the same carrier for the next two winter seasons also, as C-GTAR, hence the retention of these garish colours when it returned to Ireland for the summer months. Photographer unknown.
