Nose section on display at IAF Museum Shillong. The IAF was the main customer for the export version FL, and these formed the cutting edge during the 1971 Indo-Pak War, being used to good effect on both fronts. The Type 77 featured a complex SK ejection seat linked to the front-hinged canopy that acted as a blast shield. FLs were built at GAZ-21 and licence manufactured at HAL Nasik. This aircraft was decommissioned in 2006 after serving for 36 years. This photo is copyright © Arjun Sarup, and may not be used or published in any way without permission.
