The M3-160 Swiss Trainer was a design aimed at simplified maintenance, built and first flown by the Daetwyler company in 1983. Many sections of the aircraft such as the control surfaces are interchangeable with minimal modification. In 1993 design rights were sold to SME in Malaysia and twenty were supplied to the R Malaysian AF for basic training, operating until the late 2000s. This one has been preserved back at its place of conception. This photo is copyright © Richard Vandervord, and may not be used or published in any way without permission.
