Intair sought bankruptcy protection in the summer of 1991 and was purchased by Canadian Airlines. Relaunching as Inter-Canadian, the Metros and Fokker 100s were removed from the fleet and Fokker F-28s were acquired and more ATR-42s added. This Metro was later lost attempting an emergency landing after a wheel well fire with another airline.
