The DH-89 at the National Museum of the United States Air Force was built in 1944 and carried RAF serial NR695. It was sold to the government of India in 1945, then sold again to a private concern in 1946. Eventually, it came to the United States where it was modified to the civilian Dragon Rapide passenger configuration. The classic aircraft was obtained by the museum and flown here in November 1989. It is painted to represent one of the six Dominies flown by the USAAF during World War II. This photo is copyright © Gary Vincent, and may not be used or published in any way without permission.
