One of three Oxfords allocated by the RAAF to the USAAF at Townsville. The others were VHCOA and VHCOB however VHCOC is most likely. It had been BM740 in RAAF service, which had retained its RAF serial. The registrations were call signs used by transport aircraft in the South-West Pacific theatre and not civil registrations. They did not have hyphens. VHCOC was returned to the RAAF. Photo from: Townsville City Library This photo was added on 31 March 2023, and has since been viewed 379 times. |
