D-2160 was flown solo to Australia by Elly Beinhorn. She was flying around the world in sections, with the aircraft shipped when the water crossing was too great. D-2160 was returned by sea to Germany from Brazil. Beinhorn was acclaimed as a national hero on her return home. She subsequently undertook other long-distance flights but not in the Klemm, the fate of which is not known.
