O2U-2 serial number 303 was Initially commissioned in May 1934, however in 1936 the U.S. Coast Guard adopted a new serial number system, consisting of the letter "V" followed by a three-digit number and this aircraft became V119. The "19" indicated that this was the 19th aircraft acquired by the USCG. This aircraft saw service until April 1937. Scanned from an original reproduced USCG photograph dated 1st July 1956, from my collection, photographer unknown. This photo was added on 5 August 2023, and has since been viewed 424 times. |
