Built as 42-24080 (cn 9942) and delivered to the US Navy as bu 39064, this Skytrain was rebuilt as a R4D-8 in 1952. Assigned new cn 43376, it continued with the US Navy and Marines until withdrawn in 1979 and stored. The aircraft is pictured with Desert Air Parts where is was slowly stripped of useful parts. The hulk was last known in the Armair (Aircraft Restoration & Marketing) yard adjacent to Davis-Monthan.
