Airworthy Avenger inside the hangar at the Tri-State Warbird Museum. This aircraft was accepted into USN service on 24 May 1945. It was assigned to short-lived Torpedo Sqn VT-36 that used it as a trainer and carrier qualification aircraft. On 7 Aug 1945 it was embarked on CVE-112 USS Siboney, bound for the Pacific. The war with Japan came to an end before the carrier reached Pearl Harbor. The Avenger was stricken from service in 1949 and sold to the RCN in 1950. After serving for ten years it was sold, serving as a forest fire bomber along the way. It was bought by the museum in 2004.
