The old Aeroport Militaire (Bowen Field) still held remnants of the former Haiti Air Force, after it became the largest camp for Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) following the earthquake in 2010. The entire camp was cleared by 2013. PA-34 1293 is one of the last aircraft taken on strength with the Haiti Air Force, probably in 1987-1988, before its disbandment in 1995.
