Other photos at what appears to be the same location show a Vernon II on its belly with its under wing fabric shredded. Is this a salvage party for that aircraft? The damaged aircraft looks like it is being dismantled. The Vernon I is distinguished by its RR Eagle engines mounted between the wings. The Vernon II used Napier Lion engines which were mounted lower and often cowled into the upper surface of the bottom wing.
