This flying Il-2 Shturmovik was one of the highlights of MAKS 2017. This example was shot down by Bf109, forced landing on frozen surface of Lake Krivoye and sank on 25 November 1943. Its wreck was salvaged from the lake on 21 June 2012, and restored to flying condition by Retro Avia Tech at Novosibirsk Siberia, with a Allison V-1710 engine. It made its first post-restoration flight about one month before this picture was taken on 15 June 2017.
