Airworthy "Yellow Peril" inside the hangar at Valiant Air Command Warbird Museum. With no flaps, retractable landing gear or a variable pitch propeller, these simple aircraft helped train thousands of USAAF and USN pilots in World War II. The N2S-3 Kaydet was powered by a 220 hp Continental R-670-4 engine. BuNo 07591 was accepted by the USN on 02 Feb 1943 at Wichita. The primary trainer went to NAS Memphis, 8ND in Feb 1943. It went to NAS Bunker Hill, 9ND in Sep 1943. In Oct 1944 it moved to NAAS Cabaniss, 8ND. The N2S-3 was stricken from USN service in Aug 1946.
