The local flying club, Innlandet flyklubb, uses this Archer for spotting wildfires in the forest fire season. The taiga forest starts a few miles from the airport and runs through Norway, Sweden, Finland, and Russia ending on the shores of the Bering Strait. The benefit is that the pilots gain experience and wildfires are spotted early. The club flew a demonstration along with the local fire brigade which had lit a fire on the airport perimeter.
