Built as Hunter T.7A, in 1959, XL616 flew with the Royal Air Force until about 1985 when it became an instructional airframe at RAF Cosford. It was sold in 1995 to Lansen Ltd and re-registered G-BWIE. Transported by road to Sweden in 1997 or 1998 and operated as SE-DXH by Lansen Ltd, Avancerad Flygtraning from 1999. To Vasteras Flygmuseum by 2006. To the International Test Pilots School (ITPS) in London, Ontario by November 2020. One of three Hawker Hunters at CYXU, of which only C-GHHR owned by ITPS was airworthy in September 2024.
