The T.S.R. II was the prototype for the production model of the Swordfish. It had followed on from the T.S.R. I which in turn evolved from the S.9/30. The photo here shows it as it first flew with small bumps on the Townsend ring. A smooth Townsend ring was fitted in 1935. K4190 was kept busy because it was used for trials for both the landplane and seaplane versions.
